Desert Botanical Garden honored Maxine Lakin as the recipient of its 2019 Conservation Award. The award honors extraordinary individuals for their significant and enduring contributions to the conservation of the Sonoran Desert.

The first kernel of CAZCA was a question: “How do we go beyond our own Garden walls?” McCue says. “How do we take our expertise and our desire to have positive impact in our community out beyond what we do here at the Garden?”
