Nature’s Bounty: Discovering the Herbal Riches of the Desert

Event Description

Got a tummy ache? Did you wake up with a head-ache or sore muscles? The Sonoran Desert is home to a rich variety of plant life used for centuries by Native Peoples medicinally, as a food source, for fuel, shelters, fishing hooks, fibers and even the occasional alcoholic beverage. Come out to the park and find out how the Native Peoples of the Sonoran Desert treated a variety of ailments using plants found in their environment. Join us on our morning hike the third Wednesday of the month at 9:00 AM. Bring water, a hat, good walking shoes and lots of questions!
