Desert Defender January Removals

Event Description

Invasive species are one of the biggest threats to our park’s ecosystem health. Join the Desert Defenders program to help us find and remove these plants.

This invasive species pulling event will focus on removal plants by pulling, bagging and disposing. For this event the species of focus will be Sahara mustard, London rocket, and Stinknet. Please bring gloves if possible. Dress appropriately for working around desert plants.

Registration required. Please check-in at the park’s Nature Center. Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Dept. adheres to state COVID-19 protocols including wearing a masks, social distancing and other safety protocols.
