Recent headlines about global insect declines and three billion fewer birds in North America give us a clue. How can we make better use of our landscape\, and design spaces that can sustain the plants and animals that sustain us? \nJoin us to hear Doug Tallamy\, professor at the University of Delaware for over 40 years and best-selling author\, to learn what solutions lie within our grasp. He will discuss simple steps we can take to reverse declining biodiversity and explain why we\, are nature’s best hope.  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n DATE:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSeptember 25\, 2020\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Time:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n1:00 PM – 2:00 PM MST\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Location:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOnline Event\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n How do I join?\nPlease purchase your ticket through Eventbrite to participate.  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Register\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Event Partners\nCAZCA functions through extensive partnerships to stand together and further our conservation efforts. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Other Events\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Chiricahua National Monument & the Path to Arizona’s Fourth National Park\n \n Oct 22\, 2026 \n \n \n Join HECHO for a conversation about the case for making Chiricahua our next national park. Join the August EcoQuest: Monsoon Soon! \nWhen you think about monsoon season\, what comes to mind? Maybe the smell of rain or the sounds of toads? How about bugs or even toppled trees? For this month’s EcoQuest\, let’s investigate a few Sonoran Desert species associated with monsoon season. \nWander your neighborhood to see what you find\, hopefully after a much-needed rain! Help us understand more about wildfire and its impacts in the Sonoran Desert by mapping plants close to home that can help facilitate recovery of the desert landscape. Explore the resilient Sonoran Desert plants for this project. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n DATE:\n\n\nJuly 2020\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Time:\n\n\nAll Day\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Location:\n\n\nMetro Phoenix\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n How do I join?\nSign up for iNaturalist and join the EcoQuest today! \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Join the EcoQuest\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Event Partners\nCAZCA functions through extensive partnerships to stand together and further our conservation efforts. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Other Events\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Chiricahua National Monument & the Path to Arizona’s Fourth National Park\n \n Oct 22\, 2026 \n \n \n Join HECHO for a conversation about the case for making Chiricahua our next national park. This Arizona native plant thrives in our desert heat and continues to display its showy flowers even in the hottest days of summer. It’s also a great resource for wildlife\, providing food\, cover\, and habitat\, especially birds and pollinators. \nEcoQuests are month long challenges that are part of the larger Metro Phoenix EcoFlora project. All these species can respond different to urbanization. Some are exploiters\, others avoiders\, of these broad landscape changes. \nFew studies have evaluated the effects of urbanization on wildlife in the southwestern US\, especially in the highly arid Phoenix Valley\, which is home to the fifth largest city in the US. Join us as we explore how local wildlife has responded to our growing cities season by season\, and how we could potentially map their preferred habitats and activities! \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n DATE:\n\n\nJanuary 24\, 2020\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Time:\n\n\n3pm to 5pm\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Location:\n\n\nDesert Botanical Garden \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Do I need to Register?\nYes!
